The Department of Radiology is committed to the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions continued mission of setting the world standard in patient care, medical education and research. Upon joining our radiology residency program, you become part of not only a premiere radiology department, but also the broader national and international Johns Hopkins Medicine family. We aim to train the radiology leaders of tomorrow across the spectrum of clinical and academic practice. We offer a core 4-year diagnostic radiology track, as well as a flexible research residency track.

Russell H. Morgan, a native of London, Ontario, completed his medical training at the University of Western Ontario. His work included the development of the automatic x-ray timer as well as major advancements in fluoroscopic screen intensification. He arrived at Johns Hopkins in 1946 as the inaugural chairman of our department, subsequently serving as the dean of the School of Medicine from 1971-1975.
