The eRadiology Center serves patients and physicians with the management of radiologic images. Patients may request copies of imaging studies and/or copies of their radiology reports. Please note: Radiology reports will not be available to patients until 2 business days following the radiologist’s interpretation of the imaging study.

All imaging studies that are to be stored in the JHM Image Archive must be reviewed by an accredited physician in the Radiology department. If outside images were interpretated by a Hopkins radiologists from an affiliated site, then image consultation is not required to import images into the archive.
Policy for Outside Image Consultations:
The requesting physician is responsible for notifying his/her patient that a minimal fee will be charged for requests for outside consultations and storage of images on the archive.
Referring physicians are required to complete a requisition for an outside image consultation.
Each study date requires a separate line on the Outside Image Consultation requisition. Each patient requires a separate Outside Image Consultation requisition. The form and CD/film must be brought to the eRadiology Center, complete with all required information: patients name, JHH MRN, birth date, clinical history, physician signature, and contact number for the person submitting the Outside Image Consultation.
The outside image study report should be submitted with the CD and/or films and Outside Image Consultation form. All highlighted areas are required fields.
An accredited physician in the Department of Radiology will review and formally interpret the outside study.
Once the CD and/or films are imported into the archive the contact on the Outside Image Consultation will be notified and have 14 days to pick up the CD and/or films. Unclaimed films and CDs will be discarded after 14 days.
What happens if Radiology cannot import your CD into the imaging archive?
Radiology estimates that about 15 percent of CDs cannot be imported into the image archive. When this occurs, there will be no images in the archive but a report will be available.
In the event the CD cannot be imported, you will be notified to pick-up the CD immediately.
The eRadiology Center is not responsible for storage of unclaimed CDs or films after 14 days from day of submission of the items.
