Office for Imaging Support in Translational Research – OISTeR

OISTeR is a consultative service providing support for Hopkins faculty researchers and other investigators conducting translational and clinical research involving imaging technologies. OISTeR’s goal is to assist investigators in design and conduct of clinical and translational research tobetter integrate imaging resources within the trials.

About Us:

Established in 2008, The Office for Imaging Support in Translational Research OISTeR in the Department of Radiology is the Imaging Developing Core of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and TranslationalResearch (ICTR) responsible for providing imaging resources to the other cores of the Institute, as well as to the Johns Hopkins research community, by developing a structure to facilitate collaborations between all stakeholders in clinical and translational research.

The ICTR is funded by the National Institutes of Health as part of a national consortium of Clinical and Translation Science Awards (CTSA).

Directed by Dr. Katarzyna J. Macura, OISTeR facilitates one-on-one consultation with imaging experts for study design, imaging protocol development and study implementation. Additionally, OISTeR facilitates access to imaging resources and assists with IRB regulatory processes related to imaging. OISTeR is developing a centralized infrastructure for communication between researchers.

Accelerated Translational Incubator Pilot (ATIP) Program

Any faculty member at Johns Hopkins University interested in starting a translational project is eligible to apply for ATIP funding; junior faculty are particularly encouraged and will receive extra consideration. The continuance and renewal of funding is dependent upon the achievement of specific, timeline-related milestones.
Investigators can be awarded between $30,000-$100,000 each.
