High Resolution MR Neurography and MR Guided Injections

High resolution Magnetic Resonance Neurography is an excellent technique for evaluation of peripheral nerve disorders, including nerve injuries, entrapments and mass lesions. The Johns Hopkins Musculoskeletal Radiology department has high field- 3Tesla MRI scanners with dedicated imaging coils. We use fully optimized scanning protocols with liberal use of 3D imaging to obtain better quality images of the peripheral nerves and associated lesions in multiple planes for the referring physicians. These routinely help the clinicians in diagnosis, preoperative planning and better patient care. The technologists at Hopkins are well-trained to perform these examinations due to the constant feedback from the Radiologists.

Furthermore, the Hopkins Musculoskeletal Radiologists are technically skilled with vast experience to interpret these complicated exams accurately. The imaging results and patient management are also routinely discussed in our multi-disciplinary MR Neurography and Sarcoma conferences with active participation of various surgeons and oncologists, which aids in appropriate patient management planning and better care.

We also perform MR intervention for safe perineural and muscle medication (Botox) injections.
